The Heart of Chicago neighborhood got its name because it’s in the middle of the city, geographically. It’s bordered by the Stevenson Expressway to the north, South Blue Island Avenue to the south, Ashland Avenue to the east and Western Avenue and Oakley to the west. It’s known for it’s diverse make up, historic architecture, long time families and the National Museum of Mexican Art. The block of Oakley that we’re on is known for it’s old school Italian restaurants like Brunas, Ignotz, Bacchanalia and La Fontanella.
